CASE STUDY
i.park Norwalk

In July, 2006 National RE/Sources purchased a 340,000 sf building in Norwalk which was formally home to the Perkin Elmer Company.  The goal was to convert the building from a single manufacturing facility into a high tech workspace named i.park that would attract upscale tenants.  A major renovation was needed to achieve this goal and National RE/Sources contracted with Pustola & Associates to do design/build work.  To change the character of the building Pustola & Associates’ architects and engineers designed large new energy efficient, glass entrances that allowed light to penetrate the building and create aBefore large open space to welcome visitors.   Another goal was to reinforce the i.park brand which has been established in other office settings in the region.  Pustola & Associates’ in-house site work division was called on to do extensive excavation work to resculpt the outside areas of the property and install a new lighting system.

The first major tenant, Norwalk Hospital, chose i.park for their new 100,000 sf wellness center in April, 2007.  The hospital wanted a location close to their main facility in an inviting setting.  To realize their vision, Pustola & Associates’ architects designed new lobby areasAfter that would lead to individual medical practices.  As new practices move to i.park we custom designs workspaces to meet their needs.  Upon approval of a design Pustola & Associates’ contractors ensure work is completed within budget and on time.  As of July, 2008, tenants include Soundview Medical, Advanced Pediatrics, Women’s Health of New England, Connecticut Dermatology Group., Neuropsychology Consultants, and a podiatry practice run by Dr. DC Patel.

As new tenants move to i.park Pustola & Associates continues   to successfully provide design and build services.  It is our familiarity with the construction process which separates us from the typical design service firm.  This advantage is reflected in design which considers practical and cost-effective solutions, as demonstrated by a record of excellence since 1986.
